Dan here letting y’all know about our upcoming show this Wednesday in Boston at Club Church (69 Kilmarnock St in Fenway). Not sure if everybody heard, but I was swinging my wrecking ball around the other day, just practicing my aim, when outta nowhere the damn thing bounced off a building and nailed me right in the shoulder, breaking my collarbone! So unfortunately I won’t be able to play this round. BUuuut, we did enlist the powers of our good friend Nate Edgar on bass (John Brown’s Body) to cover for me, and we’ll still be swaying heavy as usual to the sounds of science.
This is week 5 of a Club Church June residency presented by My Secret Boston… and will also feature the soulful Nicky Egan, as well as Banana Phonetic and August West & The Rest.

We’re back from Colorado after a slew of great shows all across the state with Tubby Love and Cashed Fools. Overall we played 13 nights, opened for John Brown’s Body on two shows, and had a blast! Here’s a link to download our Tubby Love set in Crested Butte opening for JBB. Scott Flynn (trombone) played a few songs with us, Sam Dechenne (trumpet) jumped up for a tune and Sam Ravenna was behind the board dubbing out the sounds. Highlight of the night was track 6, an Elephant Wrecking Ball track played full band style to melt some faces. Big thanks to Jocko Randall for recording the show. Enjoy!
The Tubby Love crew returns to Colorado next month for their second tour of the centennial state. Joining the four piece band this year are a few special guests including Steve Balkun from Cashed Fools and Eric Robertson from the Boston Boys to make for some unforgettable nights of music. They’re even meeting up with fellow Bostonians John Brown’s Body on two dates early in the tour. “We’re very much looking forward to meeting up and hanging with the masses of friendly, life-loving people of the beautiful mountainous state in the coming weeks, so get ready people!” The band is: Tubby Love (Gtr/Vox), Dan Africano (Bass), Fro! These 4 songs were recorded from 1am to 5am on the morning of August 18th of this year in Tubby’s Basement, and mixed by myself in a few short days in Bethesda, MD. I urge you to listen on headphones or plug in some speakers to get the full range of sound, otherwise you will only feel half the destruction. I hope you enjoy it, there will be more Elephant Wrecking Ball music released near the year’s end so keep your eyes out.

The time has come for team Tubby Love to take to the road on a magical mission to the motherland. Forces combine to become what seems to be the most alchemistic lineup to date. The freshly formed five piece is stoked to play a slew of shows over the course of the coming week, and are equally excited about experimenting with the chemistry of the new crew, eager to come up with some fresh material for the future. Cashed Fools are fresh off a few marathon studio days in Syracuse recording with audio ninja Jocko Randall of John Brown’s Body. These tracks are not even mixed yet and they sound naaaasty. Needless to say we’re super excited to finish this record! Show is $8, 21+, Fools hit at 10:30.
